Introducing the Warehouse!
With Bee Loved’s local theme, putting on the event at Regina’s newest and classiest local food location was a natural fit. The event space is located in the warehouse of the old Weston Bakery at 1377 Hamilton Street (the main doors are to the left (or north) of the four overhead garage doors.
Local entrepreneurs, Tim and Carla Shultz recently moved their business Local & Fresh into the adjoining space. Many years ago, Tim dreamt of building a hub connecting discerning consumers with local producers. As 4th generation farmers and young entrepreneurs trying to make a go in agriculture, they used direct-to-consumer marketing with their vegetable farm. They quickly realized the need for a better way to market their product. From their beginnings as the Green Ranch meeting up with customers at the farmers’ market or in the Science Centre parking lot, their business growth has been steady and sustainable. Together with co-founders Andrew and Jennifer Rathwell, they are working really hard to make local foods convenient to access, readily available and economical. Their efforts have been instrumental in building marketing opportunities for Saskatchewan’s farmers and food producers.
